As a searcher for a fund, I would like the search to give me the option to look specifically for funds, listed companies or both to better help navigation.ģ. LSE: ABF should bring back results for ABF.Ģ. As a user of stocks I would like the search function to search a variety of different codifications for stocks and funds I am looking for (For example ISIN) and in addition some fuzzy logic should apply to return stocks from other stock exchanges if the Exchange is not explicitly listed e.g. The following would make this capability more powerful:ġ. On that basis I did manage to find one of the two funds I was looking for, with the Vanguard Small Caps Fund completely impossible to find in either the plugin or core stocks function (to be honest the plugin really only works for listed companies or listed funds). What I have found is that the naming of the funds works better when using the precise name from the UK Financial Times Newspaper site (maybe they have Refinative in the background also?). It doesnt appear that there is much additional search built into the search function particularly for Funds, which have different codifications. My feedback is that this function is great, but the search capability is incredibly sensitive to exactly how Refinative have named listed the stock, so much so that it is almost useless for non-listed funds. Sorry for not replying - I kind of gave up, but now my alternate solution doesn't work. Vanguard Global Small-Cap Index Fund GBP Acc - ISIN: IE00B3X1NT05 Inflation-Linked Gilt Index Fund GBP Acc - ISIN: 0P0000SHY5.L So can anyone suggest ways to look this stuff up? Excel lookup stock price code#the fund 'Vanguard Global Small-Cap Index Fund GBP Acc' has an ISIN of 'IE00B3X1NT05' SEDOL of 'B3X1NT0' and Code of 'VNGSA' but none work). Is there a naming convention that we can follow? Are there any identifiers that I can use (e.g. Is there a list or search somewhere that we can use to see Refinitiv's naming conventions or names. So the question is, what is the best way of looking up these types of data with the Stocks function? It seems like the search helper needs something exact.looking up 'Vanguard' for example yields nothing, neither does 'Global' or does 'Global Small-Cap' or any other variants which should find at least some results. I understand from other post's on here, that the names used Refinitiv (the data provider) are not necessarily intuitive and that they often use lots of abbreviations ( see here). Looking up Stocks seems relatively straightforward but finding other types of item such as a fund or an ETF is a massive hit and miss. I am using the Excel Stock function to monitor prices on various stocks, ETFs and Funds.
